Deadly crash involving semi-truck shuts down West Mount Houston Road, deputies say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver is confirmed dead after a crash on Highway 249 at Veterans Memorial in Northwest Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Saturday morning.

Deputies said the two-vehicle crash happened in the 2600 block of West Mount Houston Road and involved a semi-truck and a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck has been confirmed dead, deputies said.

West Mount Houston is currently closed in both directions as authorities continue their investigation.

Authorities have not said if anyone else was injured or how the crash happened.
